My name
is Linda Comyns and I operate as a freelance translator, writer, editor and
teacher/trainer in the Netherlands. You may contact me in my capacity as the

Unless
you yourself provide me with your personal data, I collect, store and use your
personal data only for the purposes of issuing a quotation, providing a
translation, writing, editing, proofreading, teaching/training or other
language service and/or to comply with legal requirements. Personal data
collected and processed may include your name, postal address, email address,
telephone number, employer, school, course and bank account number. Personal
data may also include special categories such as personal data from persons
under 16 years of age (including name, postal address, telephone number, email
address, school/college, course), but only if you provide this data to me for
the specific purpose of providing English lessons or for translating, writing,
editing or proofreading services.
For
quotations, I delete all personal data after one year.
For
work carried out, I keep your personal data for seven years to comply with tax
obligations and if it is embedded in a translation, for up to ten years to
preserve the integrity of my personal translation resources.
For
services received, I keep your personal data for seven years to comply with tax
obligations.
Emails
- I delete email communications after seven years.
I do not
use your personal data for marketing purposes and I do not sell data to any
third party. I only share your data for the purposes of fulfilling a request or
to comply with legal obligations. If I send a text for revision or editing to a
colleague, that text will be anonymised so your
personal data will not appear in it. For administrative purposes, other parties
may have access to your personal data, including my accountant and the
providers of my website and email hosting services. All these parties are
GDPR-compliant.
I take
great care to ensure the safety of your personal data and take appropriate
measures to prevent misuse, loss, accidental or unauthorised access, disclosure
and modification. If you suspect that your data is nevertheless not
sufficiently secure or that it has been misused, please contact me.
You may
contact me at any time to request a copy, rectification or erasure of your
personal data. Please send your request to LMCcomms@gmail.com.
I will take action without undue delay and in any
event within one month of receipt of the request.
Should
you have any questions or concerns about how I process your personal data,
please contact me. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the
supervisory authority in the Netherlands or the country where you live.
Cookies
are small data files created by a website and stored on your computer or mobile
device. I use cookies that are essential for the working of the website. They
cannot identify you.
